A space-based persistent universe massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Eve Online (stylized EVE Online) was created and released by CCP Games. The area held by this culture is literally closest to the destroyed EVE gate in terms of closeness. The Amarr built their empire by subjugating and enslaving other races, including the Minmatar race, who had just recently started colonizing distant worlds, with the aid of this new technology and the force of their unwavering trust in their deity. A few generations later, in the wake of a botched effort to invade Jovian space and the extreme cultural shock of coming into contact with the Gallente Federation, many Minmatar seized the chance to revolt and successfully overthrow their captors, establishing their own government.

Choosing an existing character or creating a new one is how players begin the game. Up to three characters are allowed for each Eve Online account. Every spacecraft and escape pod has a Warp Drive that is used to cover most distances more than a few hundred kilometers. As an alternative, a player may decide to “slow boat”—that is, travel without warp drive—across these kinds of distances. The player must direct their spacecraft to warp to a target more than 150 kilometers distant and inside the same solar system in order to enter warp. Asteroidal units per second are used to measure warp speeds, which vary depending on the ship’s class and equipment. Warp disruption weapons may momentarily destroy a ship’s warp drive, which is a crucial component of warfare to stop a target from leaving.


In contrast to other massively multiplayer online games, player characters in Eve Online progress continually over time by acquiring new abilities. This passive learning process takes place in real time, meaning the learning process continues even if the player is not signed in.[36] Up to 50 abilities may be planned in the skill training queue, with a maximum 10-year total training timeline. Prior to the November 4, 2014, “Phoebe” release, talents could only be scheduled to begin training up to 24 hours in the future using the skill training queue.[37] Some abilities need more time to train than others, and some skills require other necessary skills to be taught to a specific degree in order to be trained. For instance, learning to operate a Titan-class starship requires eight months of training.


In Eve Online, the player-driven in-game economy is an open economy. NPC vendors offer skill books that players utilize to gain new talents as well as blueprints for building ships and module construction. Additionally, NPC traders buy and sell Trade Goods. Others have a practical purpose and are not suitable for trade with NPCs, while others Trade Goods are solely for sale between NPC merchants. Many behaviors that are viewed as griefing in most MMOs are permitted in Eve due to the game’s emphasis on freedom, consequence, and autonomy. This involves killing other players with massive numbers of NPCs, extorting money from them, and stealing from them.The game’s producers define unlawful griefing as a select few behaviors, such as willful, protracted, focused harassment without a tangible benefit. Escaping CONCORD’s retaliation for unlawful conduct is likewise prohibited since CONCORD is purposefully built by game mechanics to be unstoppable. The creators claim that the famous computer game Elite, which itself was based on ideas from the science-fiction role-playing game Traveller, was the ancestor of Eve Online. Eve combines elements of Ultima Online’s player-versus-player gameplay with Elite’s player-to-player communication.[84] Elite contained four single-player components: missions, mining, trade routes, combat with hostile NPCs at random, and combat with hostile NPCs, all of which are components of the original Eve Online.
David Braben, one of the Elite’s original developers, thinks Eve Online is only a remake of the 1980s game and not a real successor. Some of the creators, like John Cameron, James Cassidy, and Joe Chaney, think that this game provides a universe where players may transform into people that are only imaginable.
A free-to-play first-person shooter video game for the PlayStation 3 called Dust 514 (/dst fa w n f r/ i) was created by CCP Shanghai and released by CCP Games and Sony Computer Entertainment. The Eve Online soundtrack was composed by Jón Hallur Haraldsson, also known as Real-X. Icelandic rap-rock group Quarashi also composed several tracks for the game. A digital soundtrack titled EVE Online: Original Soundtrack, Vol. 1 was released on iTunes on August 12, 2009. The soundtrack comes with an audio book track EVE Chronicle – Taught Thoughts. The soundtrack has since been removed from iTunes.

Frontier Developments created and released the space flight simulation game Elite Dangerous.
